When that big yellow coach hoves into view the adrenalin starts.
Ampleforth here we come.
There's forty on the coach plus half-a-dozen leaders.

Arrival at Ampleforth and it is realised that all that adrenalin will be needed:
THOSE STEPS!!

Having checked in, there's an intro from Pablo with a few do's and don'ts - mainly DO JOIN IN.

Then it's off to dinner followed by the "getting to know you" session of icebreakers with
Tom, Ashley and Mike.

Each evening will finish with a silent reflection based on the theme of the Camp:

"SAINTS ALIVE"

Morning reflections also highlight challenges but in a more light-hearted way - trust Ryan

Workgroups on each morning highlight the challenges faced by Young Vincentians:

Physical, Social, Rational, and Emotional,
- the ways in which these are overcome create living saints.

tugging at emotions                         challenge to avoid the heat

working it all out

providing support

has the egg broken?

Teenagers and Country Dancing - not a usual combination.
But the Ceilidh is always a highlight of Camp Vincent

More usual for teenagers: Karaoke

A special visitor this year was little Luke

Plenty of afternoon activities

And then
The Mass

Not the usual passive Mass with the congregation just watching
but with all 230 Young Vincentians and leaders taking part with
singing and role-play throughout.

And the big yellow coaches appear and it's all over for another year.

Tears are shed as new found friends have to part

As always this 'recycled teenager' would like to say a big
THANK YOU
for all your help.
Congratulations to everyone for making this such a great Camp Vincent.
(but please can we have an escalator next year!)
